The
non-profit Full Life Association educates Americans on how to lead active
and energetic full lives at any age.
Once considered a medical marvel, millions of Americans are now living into their 80s and 90s. But inadequate planning by government and Americans themselves leaves many of today's older people depressed, isolated and dependent on others.
With 78 million Baby Boomers heading into retirement, the problems of the aging now stand to cripple our nation. If nothing changes, an overwhelmed health care system will sentence millions of older Americans to unprecedented poverty levels, then devastate the economy for citizens of all ages.
The Full Life Association was formed because Americans and business must act now. The federal government is still struggling to meet the obligations of the Social Security Act of 1935. And though well-meaning, other non-profit organizations serving older Americans are focused elsewhere.
The Full Life Association takes an important step to help even more people in 2008. After educating community groups, we will offer our first life planning education programs in collegiate and corporate settings, a crucial step in expanding our work to all Americans in their 30s, 40s and 50s. The life planning education programs will take place at Northeastern University and EMC Corp. in Massachusetts.
